Throes of Creation is a multi-player, text-based, role-playing game set in the original world of Therron. It is a persisant world, in which players take on the roles of adventurers, citizens and craftsmen of the cities. It is of the medieval fantasy genre, with magical and fantastic abilities available to the characters.

There are several reasons. One is the nostalgia and homage to games gone past. Another reason is that with text the player is the director, and a literate and imaginative player can out think the pictures available from any graphical interface. A third reason is that text allows those that are visually impaired to play through the use of screen readers, something graphical games may never allow them to do. A final reason is the ease and quickness of development, allowing new content to be added at a more rapid pace.

Playing is accomplished by connecting to the server through use of a client. Depending upon your operating system there may be many clients available.
